C'è un momento nella storia di ogni band in cui il caos si dissolve, lasciando spazio a una visione cristallina, quasi inevitabile, che emerge dalle ceneri di un'inquietudine creativa. I Puà rappresentano questo passaggio.
Questa metamorfosi silenziosa che trasforma frammenti di pensieri sparsi in un'opera coesa, dove il subconscio diventa il filo conduttore di un viaggio musicale tanto profondo quanto universale. In un'epoca in cui la superficialità sembra regnare sovrana, "Animali" si erge come un richiamo viscerale, un invito a riscoprire quella connessione primordiale che ci lega non solo alla musica, ma alla nostra stessa essenza.
Nell'album, si avverte una continua lotta tra il desiderio di liberarsi dalle catene dell'esistenza e la necessità di abbracciare le paure che ci definiscono. È in questa tensione che i Puà trovano il loro equilibrio, esplorando le ombre della solitudine e le vertigini dell'incomprensione. Ma è proprio quando il contatto umano rompe queste barriere che la loro musica raggiunge le profondità inesplorate del nostro essere, rivelando l'amore come unica via di salvezza in un mondo sempre più cinico.
"Animali" è un rito di passaggio, una rampa di lancio verso nuove possibilità, una sfida a vedere le cose da una prospettiva diversa. Ogni brano è un invito a risvegliarsi, a scartare le illusioni che ci trattengono e a immergersi in un’esperienza sonora che non conosce limiti, se non quelli imposti dalla nostra stessa mente. La musica dei Puà è un atto di fede, una dichiarazione di intenti che rifiuta le etichette e abbraccia l'ignoto con una sincerità disarmante.
Benvenuti. La genesi dei Puà è avvenuta in un momento di rinascita creativa, dopo un periodo di incertezza. Come avete vissuto il passaggio da tracce incompiute a una visione musicale coesa e come questo ha influenzato il vostro processo di composizione?
Il processo di composizione è avvenuto principalmente in due momenti. Il primo durante un periodo di forte incertezza personale, infatti l’80% dei testi sono un flusso di pensieri e parole che hanno preso forma aprendo la strada al progetto. Tanto subconscio per cominciare. Nella seconda parte invece, quando a canzoni formate ci siamo messi a vederle “da fuori” ci siamo goduti la fioritura ed è stato più leggero e semplice.
Il titolo dell’album, “Animali”, evoca una connessione primordiale e istintiva con la musica. Qual è il significato profondo dietro questo titolo e come si riflette nelle vostre canzoni l’idea di una lotta per liberarsi dalle “catene della vita”?
Questo titolo in verità nasce come nome della band. I Puà dovevano essere Animali ma poi non è stato così, il suono della parola ci piaceva tanto da decidere di tenerlo come nome del disco. Non abbiamo dubitato neanche un secondo. Come dicevamo:
c'è tanta “pancia” nel nostro percorso creativo e pochissima “testa”.
Anche per questo titolo ci sembra più giusto stare a guardarlo e farci ispirare ogni volta, perché ci rispecchia ma preferiamo non caricarlo di troppo significato per non esaurirlo. Le catene della vita sono le illusioni in cui crediamo ciecamente e che pilotano ogni nostra scelta in automatico.
Touch Me inizia con la confessione di una paura di non essere compresi o creduti. Quanto è importante non sentirsi soli e in che modo i brani riflettono questa vulnerabilità?
La paura è un tema molto presente nel disco. Paura di qualsiasi cosa, tutto ci spaventa e in particolare la possibilità che la solitudine provenga da una nostra mancanza. Il terrore di non capire noi stessi e quindi cadere in un loop vertiginoso di incomprensioni.
C'è un momento di pace però quando grazie al contatto umano ci si riappropria di una comunicazione più profonda e meno mentale o emotiva.
Il concetto di amore che si sviluppa gradualmente sembra rappresentare una metafora per un’evoluzione personale. Come avete tradotto questa crescita interiore in un’esperienza musicale e quanto è importante saper amare in una società sempre più cinica e materialista?
L'amore è il centro di ogni cosa.
O meglio, quando l'amore è al centro della questione è tutto più luminoso e chiaro, più semplice e potente. Il nostro compito in questa vita è fondamentalmente questo e ogni occasione è buona per lavorarci, l'evoluzione è questa. La musica ha il vantaggio di raggiungere grandi profondità, difficilmente esplorabili in altro modo e allora ha senso immergersi.
La "rampa di lancio" è un tema ricorrente nel vostro album e rappresenta la possibilità improvvisa di cambiamento e una spinta verso nuove direzioni. Quali eventi personali e influenze artistiche hanno ispirato questa scelta tematica e come si manifesta nel vostro processo compositivo?
Ci piaceva l’idea che una situazione, qualsiasi essa sia possa decollare e con uno scatto passare su un altro piano portandoci a vedere le cose da un punto di vista diverso. I lanci accadono spesso nelle canzoni per rappresentare questo scarto.
Anche la sola ripetizione di un tema con intensità o armonia diversa può ribaltare la visione di tutto.
Ad ispirarci ci sono state letture esoteriche e tanta musica di fine ‘60 inizi ‘70.
Come avete trovato il giusto equilibrio tra l’esplorazione e la fedeltà alle vostre radici musicali? In che modo questo dualismo ha contribuito a definire l'identità sonora dei Puà?
L'aspetto più bello (per noi) di questo progetto è che si è parlato sempre molto poco delle nostre radici musicali. L'unica cosa che ci preme è che nel momento in cui si fa musica ci sia totale apertura e onestà nel seguire ciò che ci sembra bello.
Non ci preoccupiamo di seguire un genere o espanderlo. Questo disco suona indie pop ma è assolutamente un caso, il prossimo potrebbe essere diverso o molto simile.
Lo sapremo solo quando lo faremo e le influenze ci servono tanto nelle fasi preliminari per accendere il motore, durante la composizione si è di nuovo soli.
“Animali” sembra dunque una sorta di invocazione a risvegliarsi da una condizione di sonnolenza imposta dalla società. Quali messaggi sperate di trasmettere in futuro al mondo circostante?
Non pensiamo di trasmettere attivamente messaggi perché sarebbe assurdo trasmettere qualcosa che non è ancora completamente chiaro a noi. Se però questa comunicazione aperta con chi ascolta ci porta ad accorgerci di qualcosa di diverso da quello che sapevamo, allora siamo già molto contenti.

In the album, one can sense a continuous struggle between the desire to break free from the chains of existence and the necessity to embrace the fears that define us. It is within this tension that the Puà find their balance, fearlessly exploring the shadows of solitude and the dizzying heights of misunderstanding. Yet it is precisely when human contact breaks these barriers that their music reaches the unexplored depths of our being, revealing love as the only path to salvation in an increasingly cynical world.

Every track is an invitation to awaken, to shed the illusions that bind us, and to immerse ourselves in a sonic experience that knows no limits, except those imposed by our own minds. The music of Puà is an act of faith, a declaration of intent that rejects labels and embraces the unknown with disarming sincerity.
Welcome. The genesis of Puà occurred during a moment of creative rebirth after a period of uncertainty. How did you experience the transition from unfinished tracks to a cohesive musical vision, and how did this influence your composition process?
The composition process took place mainly in two phases. The first during a period of personal uncertainty, in fact, 80% of the lyrics are a stream of thoughts and words that took shape, paving the way for the project. A lot of subconscious to start with. In the second phase, when the songs were formed, we began to see them “from the outside” and enjoyed the blossoming process, making it lighter and simpler.
The album title, “Animali,” evokes a primordial and instinctive connection to music. What is the deeper meaning behind this title, and how does the idea of a struggle to break free from the “chains of life” reflect in your songs?
This title actually originated as the band’s name. Puà was supposed to be called Animali, but then it didn’t happen. However, we liked the sound of the word so much that we decided to keep it as the album title. We didn’t hesitate for a second.
As we mentioned:
there’s a lot of “gut feeling” in our creative process and very little “head.”
Even for this title, it feels more right to just look at it and let it inspire us each time, because it reflects us, but we prefer not to burden it with too much meaning to avoid exhausting it. The chains of life are the illusions we blindly believe in, which automatically guide our every choice.
"Touch Me" begins with the confession of a fear of not being understood or believed. How important is it not to feel alone, and how do the songs reflect this vulnerability?
Fear is a very present theme in the album. Fear of anything, everything scares us, especially the possibility that solitude might stem from our own shortcomings.
The terror of not understanding ourselves and thus falling into a dizzying loop of misunderstandings.
However, there is a moment of peace when, thanks to human contact, we reclaim a deeper, less mental or emotional communication.
The concept of love that gradually develops seems to represent a metaphor for personal evolution. How did you translate this inner growth into a musical experience, and how important is it to know how to love in an increasingly cynical and materialistic society?
Love is at the center of everything. Or rather, when love is at the center of the matter, everything is brighter and clearer, simpler and more powerful. Our task in this life is fundamentally this, and every opportunity is a good one to work on it; that’s evolution. Music has the advantage of reaching great depths, rarely explored in other ways, so it makes sense to dive in.
The “launchpad” is a recurring theme in your album, representing the sudden possibility of change and a push towards new directions. What personal events and artistic influences inspired this thematic choice, and how does it manifest in your compositional process?
We liked the idea that any situation, whatever it may be, could take off and suddenly shift to another plane, allowing us to see things from a different perspective. The launches often occur in the songs to represent this shift. Even just repeating a theme with different intensity or harmony can overturn the vision of everything. We were inspired by esoteric readings and a lot of late ‘60s, early ‘70s music.
How did you find the right balance between exploration and loyalty to your musical roots? How has this dualism contributed to defining the Puà’s sonic identity?
The most beautiful aspect (for us) of this project is that we have always talked very little about our musical roots. The only thing that matters to us is that when we make music, there is total openness and honesty in following what feels right.
We don’t worry about following a genre or expanding it. This album sounds like indie pop, but that’s purely by chance; the next one could be different or very similar.
We’ll only know when we do it, and the influences help us a lot in the preliminary stages to get the engine running; during composition, we’re alone again.
“Animali” thus seems like a kind of invocation to wake up from a condition of lethargy imposed by society. What messages do you hope to convey to the world in the future?
We don’t think about actively transmitting messages because it would be absurd to transmit something that is not yet completely clear to us. However, if this open communication with the listener leads us to realize something different from what we knew, then we’re already very happy.
