Benvenuta, Clode. La tua carriera è iniziata sperimentando testi su basi elettroniche. Come si è evoluto il tuo processo creativo dalla prima scrittura fino all'EP "Labile"? E, in riferimento al titolo del disco, cosa credi si dissolva facilmente durante il percorso della nostra esistenza?

Descrivere a posteriori il processo creativo avvenuto in questi anni passati è un compito abbastanza arduo per me, ed è anche in questo che risiede il significato della scelta del titolo ‘Labile’. Quando ho iniziato non sapevo quale forma avrei voluto dare a questo progetto e inizialmente non avevo una meta, ma piuttosto seguivo il processo in divenire.

A mio avviso, i brani che compongono l’EP, nonostante abbiano musicalmente la loro coerenza, spaziano molto sia per quanto riguarda le modalità in cui sono stati concepiti sia per le fonti da cui traggono ispirazione, e, con la scelta di questo titolo, ho voluto sottolineare il collegamento più formale che contenutistico tra i pezzi del disco. Il senso dell’aggettivo per come l’ho inteso si rifarebbe più alla concezione psicologica del termine, ovvero di qualcosa di instabile che è soggetto a continua trasformazione. Rifacendosi all’accezione comune,

in riferimento all’esistenza direi che è la vita nella sua interezza ad essere fugace e a dissolversi con velocità; riuscire a immagazzinare in modo reale la consapevolezza di questo forse è la via più diretta per sentire veramente la libertà di esprimersi attraverso l’arte.

Cosa rappresentano queste “funi” che legano l'artista, e come affronti la sfida di trasformare il tuo vissuto in arte?

Le funi sono gli effetti del passato su un presente in cui appare difficile vivere in modo genuino e “incontaminato”, al seguito di avvenimenti di vita che lasciano segni, che risultano talvolta di difficile identificazione e interpretazione. E’ quando lì si riesce a riconoscere e a leggere consapevolmente che ci si slega dalle funi.

Non sempre quello che ho scritto ha rappresentato il mio vissuto, anzi, guardando indietro nel tempo, più mi avvicino alle prime volte che scrivevo e più non sapevo perché lo facevo o a chi mi stessi rivolgendo; semplicemente seguivo un impulso creativo e improvvisavo.

Andando avanti, mi sento sempre più intimamente connessa alla mia scrittura, e, forse, cercare di vivere in connessione con la propria emotività talvolta basta per raccogliere degli input che accendano l’ispirazione.

Canti della vacuità delle parole e della loro capacità di generare solo “rumore”. Come riesci a trovare un equilibrio tra l’espressione autentica e la critica sociale attraverso la musica?

Il tema della vacuità delle parole, come espresso in 'Rumore', nasce dalla mia inclinazione personale a cercare di comunicare il più possibile in modo attento e puntuale, atteggiamento che riflette l'importanza che attribuisco alle parole stesse. Pur non essendo il mio obiettivo principale quello di muovere una critica sociale, in questo caso verso la superficialità nel modo di esprimersi, potrebbe senza dubbio essere una chiave di lettura; personalmente esprimermi in modo autentico in questo caso ha la priorità.

La freddezza e il distacco nei tuoi testi suggeriscono una maturità precoce. Come bilanci la sensibilità con la necessità di proteggerti emotivamente e come credi che questa dualità continuerà a riflettersi nelle tue tracce?

I brani e i testi che fanno parte dell’EP riflettono una fase della mia vita in cui ho trovato difficile sentirmi connessa con le mie emozioni, e, senza dubbio, questo è un elemento che influisce sul risultato di qualsiasi forma espressiva.

Ad oggi è un aspetto personale a cui sto dedicando molta attenzione e trovo che sia qualcosa che si sta traducendo nei progetti su cui sto lavorando più recentemente, con i quali sento una connessione più immediata e diretta. Attualmente posso dire di essere sempre più incline ad esplorare senza timore e in modo più approfondito la mia sensibilità.

Welcome, Clode. Your career started by experimenting with lyrics on electronic bases. How has your creative process evolved from your early writing to the EP "Labile"? And, in reference to the album's title, what do you think easily dissolves during the course of our existence?

Describing the creative process of these past years in hindsight is quite a challenging task for me, and it's also where the meaning of the title "Labile" lies. When I started, I didn't know what form I wanted to give this project and initially had no destination, rather I followed the process as it unfolded. In my view, the tracks that make up the EP, despite having their musical coherence, vary greatly in the ways they were conceived and the sources they draw inspiration from, and with the choice of this title, I wanted to highlight the more formal rather than content-based connection between the pieces of the album. The meaning of the adjective, as I understood it, relates more to the psychological concept of something unstable that is subject to continuous transformation. Referring to the common meaning, in terms of existence, I would say that life in its entirety is fleeting and dissolves quickly; perhaps being genuinely aware of this is the most direct way to truly feel the freedom to express oneself through art.

What do these "ropes" that bind the artist represent, and how do you face the challenge of transforming your experiences into art?

The ropes are the effects of the past on a present where it seems difficult to live genuinely and "uncontaminated," following life events that leave marks, sometimes difficult to identify and interpret. It is when one manages to recognize and consciously read them that one breaks free from the ropes.

Not everything I have written has represented my personal experiences; in fact, looking back in time, the closer I get to my early writing, the more I realize I didn't know why I was doing it or whom I was addressing; I was simply following a creative impulse and improvising.

As time goes on, I feel increasingly intimately connected to my writing, and perhaps living in connection with one's emotions is sometimes enough to gather the inputs that spark inspiration.

You sing of the emptiness of words and their ability to generate only "noise." How do you find a balance between authentic expression and social critique through music?

The theme of the emptiness of words, as expressed in 'Rumore,' stems from my personal inclination to try to communicate as thoughtfully and precisely as possible, reflecting the importance I attribute to words themselves. Although my primary goal is not necessarily to make a social critique, in this case toward the superficiality in how people express themselves, it could certainly be a key interpretation; for me, expressing myself authentically takes priority in this case.

The coldness and detachment in your lyrics suggest a premature maturity. How do you balance sensitivity with the need to protect yourself emotionally, and how do you think this duality will continue to reflect in your tracks?

The songs and lyrics that are part of the EP reflect a phase of my life where I found it difficult to feel connected to my emotions, and without a doubt, this is an element that influences the outcome of any form of expression. Nowadays, this is an aspect of myself to which I am paying a lot of attention, and I find that it is something that is translating into the projects I am currently working on, with which I feel a more immediate and direct connection.

At present, I can say that I am increasingly inclined to explore my sensitivity without fear and in a more profound way.
